My name is Jeff Jackson. I was a sports writer for a small daily Wisconsin newspaper until I realized there was really only one sport I really enjoyed writing about: baseball. As it turns out, I’m not a sports fan, but I am a baseball fan.
Major League Baseball, the minors, high school, little league and local intramural leagues – I love it all and love to write about it.

Jeff,
Interesting choice for a first blog. You make some very good points and I, like you, have come to the same conclusion about steroids in baseball. While I would like to thing the sport has always been pure; it probably never has been. Technology has just advanced more.
Excellent first blog and I look forward to more.
If there isn’t purity in going across the street during the 7th Inning Stretch for hot dogs and beer before taking your place in right field, then I’m through with baseball.
Are you familiar with one of the greatest co-ed intramural softball teams of all time: Gonzo..?…. If so, do tell.
Undefeated and the prettiest girls UW-Stout had to offer.
There can be dignity in throwing a game or two in cases such as these – unless this is a less-than-flattering editorial comment on the girls at UW-Stout.
